Auxiliary Scholarship Information
and Application for 2007

Purpose:  The purpose of the Missouri State Chiropractors Association Auxiliary Scholarship Fund award is to recognize academic excellence and provide financial assistance to Missouri students enrolled in accredited Chiropractic Colleges.

Eligibility/Criteria:  Applicant must be a resident of Missouri in good standing at an accredited Chiropractic College in the United States.  A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required.  The student must be attending school full-time and be in at least his/her fourth quarter or third trimester of study.

The completed Scholarship Application must be accompanied by the following:

1.  Official recommendation from the college's Scholarship Committee or Financial Aid Office.

2.  Two letters of recommendation from faculty members.

3.  Official transcript showing current GPA.

4.  A completed, legible and signed application form.

5.  A brief statement on why you should be the recipient of the scholarship, including financial need.

6.  Two 200 word essays of your choice from the following:

a.  How do you envision Chiropractic in the year 2010?

b.  Why did you choose Chiropractic as a career and how do you intend to apply your education after graduation?

c.  What should the role of the Missouri State Chiropractors Association be in relation to students attending Chiropractic College?  To practicing Doctors of Chiropractic?

**INCOMPELTE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED**

Selection Process:  All applications will be reviewed and rated by the Scholarship Committee; entries will be discussed and consensus reached.  At a minimum, the Scholarship committee will consist of three members in good standing of the MSCA Auxiliary.

Notification:  2007 award recipients will be announced at the MSCA Convention at Lake Ozark, Missouri, in July.

Monies will be forwarded to the student, made payable to the school, to be applied to his/her tuition, books or supply expenses.

Award Monetary Value:  Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2007.  This may vary from year to year.

Schedule for the 2007 Scholarship Awards:

March 1, 2007    Absolute deadline for completed scholarship applications to be received.

July, 2007           Awards announced at the MSCA Convention

October, 2007    Scholarship checks to be mailed to the student's financial aid office of the school being attended.
